a georgia christmas

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

It still amazes me that the Lord would even think about sending his only Son into this world. Even though we did not deserve it, God still showed us grace and love. In that, we celebrate the beautiful birth of Jesus during this wonderful season.

Christmas would definitely have to be my favorite holiday ever. With decorating the Christmas tree, looking at all the twinkling lights, and watching Hallmark movies, it just really gets you feeling just so at peace during the holidays. Every other Christmas, I travel to either California or Georgia to spend Christmas with my family. This year we spent it with my dad's side of the family in good ole' Georgia.

It's normally about a 14 hour car ride to where my relatives live but with the frequent stops my family makes along the way, it takes almost 16 hours to get there. The drive actually is not all that bad since my sister, Rebekah, and I rotate between driving while the rest of the family relaxes the entire ride. Sometimes there is family drama that is bound to happen with little-to-no sleep during our trip. Surprisingly, this year's drive was really pleasant.

Once we make it to our destination, we settle in and prepare for our family tea brunch at Lanebrook and catch up with everyone. Later, we meet up at my Aunt Karen's house and have dinner as a whole. This year we started a new tradition in making a fire pit and shooting off fireworks. It was all together a very chill and relaxing Christmas for my family, which we all needed. I look forward to the next time we go back to Georgia.

Merry Christmas!
